DON’T LOOK AT THE GIANTS
We all have giants, and they look bigger and bigger ever time we look at them. Looking at our own giants, increases our insecurities about our own problems. When we are looking at the giants, we are not looking at Jesus. If God allows problems, He will give us possibilities and solutions. We need to be a solution-oriented people who trust in God as a normal way of life. This means that we need to be developing habits where we are able to receive God’s solutions. The following discussions of these habits, will lead us to greater victories in our own lives.
The first habit that we need to develop is to call out the Calvary! Only this time, it has only one horse, Jesus. Sometimes God sends his saints in his place. This allows his saints to share in the victory of Jesus. When we pray and serve together, it adds to our compassion for others and increases our faith. The act of listening to God draws us closer to Him and allows us to use His wisdom to construct and to utilize His solutions. The word “Help” is a very powerful tool in reaching out to God.
GET TO KNOW GOD’S VICTORY PLAN. HE WILL TELL YOU WHERE OUR ENEMY SATAN IS MOST VULNERABLE
Often when we are attacked, we can respond in a helter and skelter fashion. This is not what God intends for our lives. The first part of God’s battle plan is to pray, listen, and then respond with trust. Our greatest confusion comes when we feel that we may not have heard Him correctly. The amazing thing about our God is that He even has a victory plan for our mistakes. The best that we can do is to pray, listen and respond with trust.
GODS VICTORY PLAN CAN BE SUMMARIZED IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
1 Pray, listen, and trust, both separately and together, with others
2 Persevere with what God tells you to do,
3 Have patience. Remember that if God does not answer us right away, it is because he has a better answer for us later
4 Victory in God’s eyes is not always the same as in our own eyes. He is the author of our destiny, and the Captain of our circumstances. As time moves on, God’s victories become even sweeter and more precious to those who love him. The One who sees all and knows all will put everything and everyone in their place!
LEARNING HOW TO RUN TO GOD
This means giving up on our own efforts. We need to be learning how to be helpless in ourselves, so that we can be strong in God. It also means that we should desire to be desperate for God. We must choose Jesus as our first alternative as often as possible.
VICTORY WILL COME WHEN WE DESIRE TO BE LIKE JESUS
How much do we want his character, his desires, and his nature? Walking in the LORD’S victory, means to experience how GOD delights in turning our supposed failures into God’s victories.
WALKING IN VICTORY MEANS LEARNING TO PRAISE GOD, DESPITE THE CIRCUMSTANCES
This requires that we keep our eyes on Him, and not on our own surroundings. Only God can know what will happen next. He is the only one who can prosper and save us. He alone knows the meaning and significance of each victory that we experience.
If God would let us have our own way, this would lead to our own defeat and destruction. Victory belongs to Jesus alone in every event and circumstance. Every honor and praise is His to keep or distribute. We need to learn to celebrate the victories of Jesus as a gift from Him. Our definition of victory is not the same as God’s. He often uses these negative events in our lives to draw us closer to Jesus. Praising God for his actions is one of the most important things that we can do. Before we can see victory here on this earth, we need to have spiritual victories in the heavenly places.
KNOWING GOD’S VICTORIES MEANS TO KNOW THAT THEY WILL NEVER STOP
We like to think of victory as a single event, but to God, victory never stops. Our God has more ways of defeating the devil than all of the stars in the heavens. Our God is victorious because he has every situation in our lives covered. Jesus is never confused or uninformed. Victory to our God is a state of being that never changes. Our God has never known defeat. No one or anything can be taken out of His hand. Jesus reigns in victory to victory. He cannot be diminished and will forever be exalted. He will help us to wage war against anyone or anything that opposes Him. We cannot experience the victories of God unless He also allows us to fight in his wars, even though He has already won them.
LIVING IN VICTORY MEANS ACCEPTING GOD’S ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE
For this, perspective we need to pursue thoughts of heaven. It is here that our greatest victory will be realized. Nothing can be better than to be with Jesus all the time. The greatest victory that we will ever achieve is to have our names written in the Book of Life. From there, we will behold glory after glory, and blessing after blessing. Until then, we need to pursue the person of Jesus. He is the ultimate solution to the many problems that we will face in this life. Individual victories are an important source of encouragement in our lives. Building God’s kingdom and making us more like Jesus, are more important than individual accomplishments. God’s priorities to make us more like Jesus and to build His kingdom are His ultimate priorities. We often desire more complete victories on this earth, but we will experience total victory when we reach heaven. It is this thought that should sustain our hope. Success is God’s decision here on this earth. However, our destiny is to be completely victorious in heaven.
Growing in the Life of victory means that we share the experiences of our victories with others. This will often include stories of surrender and humility. It is these attitudes which God uses to bring victories in to our lives. Attitudes of surrender and humility help us to bond with one another in dealing with our common problems. These qualities reveal the grace of the Lord toward us, and His loving nature. Sharing our victories helps us to grow in faith. Recalling the works of the Lord encourages and inspires the presence of the Lord in our lives. It is this presence that will bring us in to victory. Let the celebration begin, for His resurrection power rules and reigns now and forever.
