Prologue and Dedication
Come with me on my journey to the heart of God. The amazing thing is that this journey will be uniquely designed and different for each person. This book is envisioned to be a supplement to the Word of God. Nothing can replace what God has said about this journey in the Bible. My prayer is that God will use this book to heal any wounds in your heart.
I want to dedicate this book to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am extremely grateful to my wife, Deborah Carr, who tirelessly typed and edited this manuscript. Special thanks also to Terri Kalmbach, who assisted in brainstorming the cover design. This book would not be possible without a great number of prayer warriors, who daily lifted us up to God in prayer.
“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress; I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.” Psalm 62:5-8
1) Beauty of the Lord
My beauty makes the world stand still. My beauty puts awe and wonder on the faces and in the eyes. My beauty is a reminder of who I am and who I am calling you to be. You will be beautiful My people; not scarred, lame or unseemly.
My beauty refreshes the soul and renews the spirit. My beauty brings joy and pleasure; for the day will come when my beauty will radiate from your face and sing from your soul. Remember this when you feel ugly and useless: the world needs what I have created you to be. You are made for this time and purpose, my beautiful one.
2) Beauty of the Lord, Part Two
Understanding My beauty is like turning the pages of an unending book. Each page of this book will produce wonder, awe, inspiration and amazement. My personal signature is enthroned in the sky and inscribed on the earth.
Another example of understanding My beauty is this: My beauty could fill all the oceans with diamonds, rubies and emeralds. I have placed My beauty in so many things; the devotion of a mother’s love and the faithfulness of your closest friend. My beauty shines forth in every human heart that loves. I have placed an endless hunger in you to see more and more of My beauty.
My beautiful story always was and will never end. My beauty is found in rays of hope and cries of joy. I want you to be fascinated with My beauty in creation, My redemption story and throughout My leadership in history. Look for what is lovely and you will find My beauty. This is My anecdote for the ugly days ahead.
3) Walk
You are not made to be alone. That is why I walk with you in the barren emptiness of your desert. That is why I am your shelter in the storm. That is why I am the light in your darkness. That is why I am the steps ahead of you and the steps behind you.
I alone am the one who made a way when there is no way. I stand with you at your sickbed; I never grow weary of it. I am the one who brings you health, healing and encouragement. I am the one who leads you into places of beauty and refreshment.
I also work at your pace to show My steadfastness and faithful love. It does not matter the circumstance; I love to walk with My beloved. At the appointed time you will walk with Me in victory and triumph because of the inheritance I will give to you. You are not alone. I walk, I walk, I walk with you out of My devotion for you.
4) Defeating Fear
Fear is one of the greatest challenges to us. Satan is going to throw fear at us in many different ways. Satan will try to send waves and waves of fear to try to intimidate us and keep us away from the will of God and from trusting in the Lord. Satan’s biggest weapons are fear and intimidation; so, we need to learn how to come against and fight fear.
The function of fear is to disable and destroy us. We also need to know how fear works in our lives. One of the ways that we deal with fear is by entrusting our lives to the Lord on a daily basis. Please see II Timothy 7:12.
There are lots of spiritual doors we open so the evil one can use fear against us. One of these doors is trying to be perfect. The evil one can strike fear in our hearts because he knows we can’t be perfect. When we try to be perfect, we mess it up and open the door to fear in our lives. When we fail, we have fear. When we try to be perfect, we are reminded that we are not like the Lord. This creates a burden of fear in our lives. One way to guard against fear is choosing faith and love instead.
5) Defeating Fear Part Two
Fear comes to us and we try to work things out in the flesh. Fear comes from the devil; he is all about fear. Fear comes to us when we live according to circumstances. Fear comes to us when we try to build our own kingdom and then we are forced to defend it.
We are fearful because we poorly communicate with others and have unrealistic expectations. Fear comes to us when we give authority in our lives to people who do not deserve it.
Authority comes from the act of being loved. We are afraid when we do things in a half-hearted manner. We are afraid when we fail somebody. Fear increases when we worry; fear diminishes when we love.
Accept God’s pace for changes in your life and know that changes are inevitable. Extraordinary people will find that they have an extraordinary God. Extraordinary people are dominated by love and not by fear. Help others to be holy and passionate towards God. Do what you can to move them towards Jesus. It is about Him, not just about you.
6) Defeating Fear Part Three
We conquer fear when we know what we want and we go for it with all we have. When God gives you an idea, He wants you to do something. It is best to do it with all your strength and all your mind and everything you have.
Another way we conquer fear is by practicing prayer and thankfulness for what we have. Thankfulness produces love which crushes fear. People who have the heart of God are less afraid. People who only follow the rules of God are much more afraid. Practicing the art of mercy on others is a good way to reduce fear.
Make love your aim. Love God first, then obey Him second. Face your fears and let God deal with them. What solution will God have for this problem? Have other people pray against fear in your life.
Fill your life with acts of love. Be busy loving instead of fearing. Faith is a gift, ask for it constantly. It is the opposite of fear. To defeat fear, we must have a dream. We must not let anyone take that dream from us. God’s dreams create power, principle and victory.
7) Cauldron
Your prayers cut through the darkness ascending to My throne. They are carried by My angels and poured into a huge cauldron of light, fire and power. Not a prayer will be wasted, not one will be misspent. At the appointed time, I will pour this cauldron upon the earth.
When I pour out this cauldron, things will never be the same again. Do you think I have not heard? Do you think I do not understand? Do you think I will not act? Darkness and evil will be routed. Salvation, healing and life will burst anew on the weary earth. Surely you are bringing change, light and hope to mankind.
Cry out again and again for I hear it all and I will act. For those who seek My heart will gain My heart. My heart will change the world because I love you and My creation. It will burst forth suddenly, unexpectedly, for I am a roaring lion about to pounce upon all who pursue wickedness, violence and foolishness. Pray, cry out, the cauldron is tipping; for I have heard and I have remembered.
8) Unity
I looked at My fractured and broken body. This was not what I created it to be. I do not create broken and useless things. My body has lost its purpose and joy because of its brokenness. I am watching. Who will extend a hand of forgiveness or acceptance? Where is the desire for unity that I have placed in My body? Who has cast aside pointless judgment of fact and fiction?
My enemy sneers at My battered and broken bride. My Word can bind you together. My love makes you one. Do not choose your kingdom, choose Mine. Who will believe the best in someone rather than critique the worst? This will leave you friendless and without hope.
Turn to Me for I am the one who does it all. I can make you one. Come back, come back My beloved. For I can make you whole, beautiful and united again. Remember, no enemy fears a divided army. Come away with Me and spend time in My forgiving presence. I miss you My bride, I miss you. Let us come together so that we can celebrate our victory together again.
9) I Will Not Forsake You
I will not forsake you in your storm of confusion. I will not forsake you in your avalanche of tears. I will not forsake you in your canyon of emptiness. I will not forsake you when your love grows dim or when your sin rises again. I will not forsake you in your cries of pain or in your deepest fears.
I will not leave you. I will not go away even in the thunder of false accusations and passionate anger. For I knew all of this before when I chose you and adopted you to be Mine.
I was with you before your beginning and past your end. Forever and completely I will pour out My unfailing love to you. Remember it is only I that can rescue you from the burning fire or the collapsing foundation. Despite all of this, I will make you beautiful, mighty and victorious. Come behold Me my beloved bride. I am your way home.
10) Crusader
You are in a culture that praises death, destruction and darkness. But my glorious light and life will destroy all of these. Go shine your light and spread life. Encourage the timid. Strengthen the weak. Heal the sick. Shine your light into ignorance and darkness. Help the homeless. Defend the defeated and the helpless. Speak and show them My word for it will give life to others.
Every day I give you opportunities to do these things. Every day My Spirit pushes back the darkness and gives life to the dying. I will use you to do this even in the smallest things. You are an important and essential part of My plan. I have placed you strategically in this time and place to accomplish My purposes. I have designated you as My warrior of light and life whether you feel this way or not. You will achieve your destiny because My Mighty right arm is with you and you will not fail unless you give up.
