THE LAMP LIGHTER The Father of lights placed the lamp lighter On the road of souls which was the highway To heaven and to hell
The lamp lighter was a gift For inside him was the light of life And of love Which was the greatest gift of all
Oh, the darkness was great And deadly on the road of souls Yes this darkness blinded the eyes crushed spirits and turned the hearts cold It devoured the souls of men
But the light of life and love from the lamp lighter Burned away the darkness And gave men the light of heaven on this road of souls (read more)
DEFEATING FEAR, Part 3
We conquer fear when we know what we want and we go for it with all we have. When God gives you an idea, he wants you to do something. It is best to do it with all your strength and all your mind and everything you have.
Another way we conquer fear is by practicing prayer and thankfulness for what we have. Thankfulness produces love which crushes fear. People who have the heart of God are less afraid. People who know the laws of God are less afraid.
Practicing the art of mercy on others is a good way to reduce fear. Accept God’s pace for changes in your life and know that changes are inevitable. Extraordinary people will find that they have an extraordinary God. Extraordinary people are dominated by love and not by fear. Help others to be holy and passionate towards God. Do what you can to move them towards Jesus. It is about Him, not just about you.
Make love your aim. Love God first, then obey Him second. Face your fears and let God deal with them. What solution will God have for this problem? Have other people pray against fear in your life. Fill your life with acts of love. Be busy loving instead of fearing. Faith is a gift, ask for it constantly. It is the opposite of fear. To defeat fear, we must have a dream. We must not let anyone take that dream from us. God’s dreams are power, principle and victory. (Michael Carr, December 2015)
DEFEATING FEAR, Part 2
Fear comes to us and we try to work things out in the flesh. Fear comes from the devil; he is all about fear. Fear comes to us when we live according to circumstances. Fear comes to us when we try to build our own kingdom and then we are forced to defend it.
We are fearful because we poorly communicate with others and have unrealistic expectations. Fear comes to us when we give authority in our lives to people who do not deserve it.
Authority comes from the act of being loved. We are afraid when we do things in a half hearted manner. We are afraid when we fail somebody. Fear increases when we worry; fear diminishes when we love. (Michael Carr, December 2015)
FIGHTING FEAR
Fear will be a major enemy of ours in the days ahead. The enemy will use it every day as a major weapon to take our eyes off Jesus. Survival will be the name of the game. The enemy will want us to be increasingly self-centered.
Perfect love drives out fear. We need to pray constantly that our love will be perfected and made strong. Fear tries to creep and crawl into the corners of our mind. Fear starts as a little thing and grows into a big thing if left unchecked. The name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus and the Word of God are the weapons to fight fear.
We need to be very aggressive in protecting our house against this enemy. 99% of the things we are afraid of never happen. The enemy’s major objective is to cause us to forget about love and center on fear. What the people around us need most is love and not fear. Centering on the positive closes the cracks in our mind and leaves no room for fear to enter in. Whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is noble, we should concentrate on those things in the days ahead (Philippians 4:8). (Michael Carr, December 2015)
THE GREAT WARRIOR
I understand your fears, but they are false and will do you no good. The best thoughts to hold fast to are those that are of Jesus, the Great and Beautiful and Faithful One. He is the One who constantly sees and saves you, the One who gives you breath; the One who holds the future and your future is in His Hands. He alone is Sure and True. He is the Light that will burn away your darkness. He is the soft and true voice of Guidance and Wisdom. He is the Father of your mercy and the fountain of your joy. He is the Sure Savior in every situation.
He is the Great Warrior for your soul. He is the Great Treasure of limitless wealth and supply. He holds you in unending arms of safety and peace. He is only a thought and a quick prayer away. All the stars could not contain His light that shines on you and for you. All the songs could not describe His amazing love for you. All the sands on every beach could not number the thoughts and kind deeds for you.
Every cry of laughter could not measure His roar of approval for you. Every one of your tears have been recorded. Every cry has been heard and remembered. He is waiting for you to take your place to rule and reign with Him. Your name has been written on the palm of His hand. You will celebrate family with Him forever. (Michael Carr, February 2016)
MY FLAME
My flame burns brightly in many hearts. Do not be afraid. Soon My flame will be like a raging fire through he land. Amazing things will happen on a daily basis. Darkness is only allowed to make My flame even brighter.
What is burning in your hearts My friend? Is it My joy? My peace? My passions? What light and life are you giving to others? My flame and fire will burn. It will not be put out.
Fear hides in the darkness. My love shines in the light. My heart is on fire for you. Take some of My flame and grab eternity. (Michael Carr, July 2024)
THE ENEMY The enemies of the Lord were circling around the camp. They wanted to steal strength, hope, resolve and confidence in the Lord. They were planning their unexpected attack to catch everyone that they could off guard. Fear, intimidation, discouragement and deception where their weapons.
They were lulling us to sleep with our own desires for comfort and peace at any cost. The people of God did not prepare because they thought everything was fine. The people of God did not seek their Master because they were worshiping idols of comfort, money and steel.
Surely the Lord will come quickly if we cry out to Him they thought. They did not notice how empty they were inside without their Master. So the Spirit of God put a prayer inside their hearts,
“We repent of giving our hearts to other things. Help us to be faithful to the end. Help us to be faithful to the end,” they cried. The gaze of the Lord looked down and sought for the people whose hearts cried out, “Let us be faithful to the end.”
