September 9th

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13

What a glorious verse this is for those who fear God. Few of us are looking forward to what would harm us. But our faithful and generous Daddy God guarantees us a hope and a future that is not laced with fear and trepidation.

We too often think of our fears rather than our hopes of a good future. It is also a joy to know that the Creator of the Universe bothers to listen to our pitiful cries for help. God’s willing ear gives us cause for courage and trust, which is a great antidote to fear.
