October 10th

“If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24

Unbelief is a terrible and heavy yoke, which keeps us from receiving everything that God meant for us in this life. One of the primary goals or objectives of Satan is to stir up unbelief in our hearts. He does this with planting doubt by asking the question, “What if?” in our minds.

This simple question keeps us from fully connecting to Jesus. This diverts our attention from the great and majestic power of Jesus to what might not happen.

Believing or faith is the antidote for our unbelief. We get faith by simply asking Jesus to take away our unbelief and doubt. Jesus gives faith or belief lavishly and freely to all who ask Him. It is a desire of Jesus that we depend on Him and believe in His promises to us. Satan gives promises to us and lies but Jesus gives promises and He delivers.
