Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

How to approach God has been one of man’s most perplexing questions. How could we possibly appease Him? It is Paul’s opinion that what the Lord wants is a body that is totally
surrendered to Him for God’s use. This living sacrifice is a pleasing and spiritual act of worship to God. It also means presenting God with a heart of deep affection and trust.

The Word of God renews our mind as well as our spirit. This will prove to be a valuable ally in resisting fear, anxiety and doubt. We are not to conform to the worlds thinking and ways because it corrupts and not transforms our mind. The word transform is metamorphous, which is the same word that describes what happens to the caterpillar when it turns into the beautiful butterfly. Our lives will become a thing of beauty the more we conform to the Word of God and deepen our relationship with Jesus. This gives us a mind that walks daily in step with the Father’s will.
